Ingredients & Directions
1 c Crisco
2 c Sugar
1 Box raisins(dark)
2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Cloves
1/4 ts Salt
4 c Boiling water
On top of stove, put all ingredients in pan and bring to a rolling boil,
with no cover Remove from stove and add 4 tsps of fresh baking soda(it will
fizz up) Cover now, and let it cool completely……. Remove cover and add
4 cups of flour, to the mixture, and mix it well Pour into 2 well greased
and floured, loaf pans Bake at 350* for 1 hour cake is done when toothpick
comes out clean
This is a very unusual and moist cake and needs no frosting….
